Sri Lankan Chicken Curry – Spicy & Authentic


Experience bold flavours with this spicy Sri Lankan chicken curry. Made with local spices, it’s a dish that brings warmth and tradition to your plate









Ingredients:

  • 500g chicken (with bone)
  • 2 tbsp Sri Lankan curry powder
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 2 garlic cloves, 1 tsp ginger, anise, cloves, cumin 
  • 1 sprig of curry leaves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cup thick coconut milk
  • Salt, chilli, turmeric and papper

Instructions:

  1. First, chop the ginger, garlic, cinnamon, anise, cloves, cumin, and curry leaves.
  2. Add chopped garlic, ginger, curry leaves and cinnamon to a bowl and add the chicken.
  3. Then add chicken, spices, salt to taste, chilli powder, and turmeric powder and stir.
  4. Then add the ramps.
  5. Then put a pot on the stove, add the chicken mixed with the spices, and add a little water.
  6. After a while, add the onion and coconut milk, cover and cook for about 15 minutes.
  7. Then taste a little and serve with rice and other curries.
